It was designed by the engineer Larramendi, author of the urban layout of the "new" post-earthquake Guardamar, 1829
It is a neoclassic building of three naves, unfinished according to the original project. The high tower stands out on the door of access, and an apse, polygonal, on the not built cruise.
Its construction began in 1845, is devoted to the cult 1892, but not finalized until 1910. In the 60 there are carried out reforms in the temple, which emphasizes the expansion of the bell tower and exterior plaster coating that hides the stone factory.
In its interior there remain some goods rescued of the former Parish, as some canvas, pieces of goldwork and imagery (San Jaime Peregrino and Ntra. Sra. del Rosario). There exist also some pieces of sculpture of middle of the 20th century of good quality.
Known as the Forest House is situated in the urban city. It shelters biographical material of Forestry Expert D. Francisco Mira. He was born in Aspe, in 1863. In addition, there shows an exhibition of illustrative photographs and objects related to the reafforestation of the dunes of Guardamar del Segura at the beginning of the twentieth century. The building also shelters the Tourist Office and the Visitor Reception Center.

This museum located in the Municipal Arts Center hosts and presents a wide and representative selection of the material traces of ancient cultures that lived in the region of Bajo Segura. The exhibition sets up two sections: Archaeological and ethnographic section. Stand out a replica of the Iberian bust known as the Lady of Guardamar, "the Phoenicians plates of the Fonteta, a collection of Islamic oil-lamps of epoch and a large collection of Christian pottery found in excavations in the ruins of Castell.

The castle located on top of the hill known as "The Castel" where are situated the ruins of the wall, towers (thirteenth century) and the walled city which has been documented phases of occupation from the Ancient Iron to Califal time is declared of cultural interest, and housed to the inhabitants of the old town of Guardamar del Segura from its foundation until the earthquake of 1829 and its materials has been reused to construct the new village of urban environment only have saved some elements of the defensive structure as Bastion of the Gunpowder and canvas walls and low-medieval towers.
It is a flour mill of hydraulic traction. Its original construction dates back to the 14th century, with subsequent remodelling in the 18th century and beginning of this century up to its current configuration neomudéjar. It is part of the set called Dam of "Sant Antoni".
Archaeological deposit of the 8th century to the 7th century B.C., set declared Well of Cultural Interest in 1990, composed by an urban framework of colonial Phoenician epoch covered by the dunes and underlying to the Rábita Califal.
There is a monumental wall with bastion, Perimeter Street and semi-detached houses in their internal face, as well as neighbourhoods of houses organized to outside of the strengthened enclosure. It is the most complex Phoenician and best preserved cities, since, the deposit remained covered by a dune. In this deposit there have been gathered different typologies of Phoenician ceramics, besides the appearance of archaic Greek ceramics, and ritual objects.
Situation: partida de Fonteta, in the dunes of Guardamar del Segura. Near to the mouth of the Segura river.
It is a Ribat or Islamic monastery of caliphal period of the 10th century with diverse attached cells - oratories, each one with its respective mihrab, and a community mosque. Set declared Well of Cultural Interest in 1990, composed by an Islamic monastery that is formed by an exceptional architectural complex of cell - oratory separated by streets or opened spaces. A set of graphite stands out on the walls of some cell, product of the visits of pilgrims to the monastery. This enclosure was a religious centre of pilgrimage dedicated to the spiritual retreat.
Situation: in the dunes of Guardamar del Segura next the river mouth, in the Park Alfonso XIII, adjacent to the archaeological remains of "La Fonteta".
It is Roman remains of the 1st century to IVth B.C. and Islamic remains of the Xth century to the XIth A.C. These archaeological excavations have uncovered a settlement with several constructive phases of the Roman period and Islamic rábita of Califal-Taifa period.
Situation: behind the coastal dune at the beach of Moncayo, about 600 m. the "Hotel Campomar" toward the Mata.
Small core walled of Phoenician origin of the century VII-VI B.C., placed on the right bank of the Segura river. In spite of its partial destruction by a quarry, the defensive system of the settlement is formed by a powerful and singular wall with bastions in projection and interior structure of "casmatas", of constructive oriental typology. Inside the walled core there are angular houses compartmentalized.
Situation: in the place of La Rinconada, on the river Segura and "Canayada dels Estanys". Close to the urbanization "El Eden".
It is a settlement and necropolis of the 4th century B.C. In it there have been gathered statues of animals, ceramic Iberian and Greek objects, weapon, clasps or golden earrings. The most important opposing piece here is the Lady of Guardamar del Segura, bust realized in limestone.
It was built in the twenties of the 20th century, replaced an older baroque of stone. It is a sample of the engineering of iron of the period, late reflection of the industrial revolution.
It is a machine water elevator of animal traction, so-called cenias of the wreath. It consists of two wheels, the water wheel water and the air wheel or counter-wheel. Nowadays it has been restored and is exposed in a public square.
There are hundreds of persons those who take part in the parades for the elaboration of the costumes is turning into a tradition rewarded with several prizes. The multitudinous parade is completed by the infantile programming and cultural activities.
The protagonists are nine Confraternities and the Fraternity that, close to the Roman Century, come to the processions. On Palm Sunday everybody shows the palms from Elche or celebrates the procession of the mantillas. On Monday fourteen steps of the vía crucis go out to the street. On Easter Sunday is represented the meeting of the Holiest Virgin and the procession of the Resurrection in which the image of the Immaculate Concepcion parades, accompanied by the Confraternities. The Holy Week of Guardamar is characterized by the staging of the Passion that are carried out in the streets of the locality, they are in total four: on Palm Sunday entry in Jerusalem; on the holy Monday, the staging Prayer of the Garden and Jesus' Capture close to the Brotherhood of Jesus' Prayer in the Garden of the Olive trees; on the holy Tuesday, the staging Pilato's washbasin close to the procession of the Brotherhood of the Step of the Flagellation of the Lord and on Friday morning the staging of the meeting of the Verónica, who goes out to the step of the Nazarene.

The first days of the holiday centre on the popular booth, the sports competitions or bullfighting spectacles. It is in the later days when there are programmed typical acts of the Moors and Christians. The holidays finish with the general parade in which they present the best gowns to interpret dances, fights of swords, horses or coaches.

The groups of auroros take special relevancy during the holidays who contribute their canticles to the commemoration throughout every Sunday of October at dawn. The big day of the holiday the 7th, celebrates the Rosario de la Aurora that takes place with the sun first’s rays. The evening it is reserved for the solemn procession with the images of the Virgin of the Fátima and the Virgin of the Rosario.
